Alissa and Troy moved to Oxford from the United States in 2011 with their two boys. Like many people in this dynamic city, their time here is for a short time. Alissa approached me with the idea of a Day in the Life series.

They want to remember their life in Oxford, but Alissa also wanted some photographs depicting her relationship with Jacek and Tycen in her temporary role as a stay-at-home mother. She will return to work when they move back home in 2013.

Admittedly, this series was somewhat of an experiment for me; but I thought it had great potential. It was an opportunity to celebrate the ordinary life that all families experience: getting children ready in the morning, shopping, gathering with friends, reviewing the day over dinner and preparing for bedtime. These are the daily events that life is made of.
