Mike & Jacque

May 2014

If there's one thing I know about about Mike and Jacque, it is that they thoroughly enjoy a long walk (or bicycle ride, or run. Anything as long as they're moving!).

Rich & Gerry

Sep 2013

I was delighted when newlyweds, Rich and Gerry asked me to join them and their 4 children at Shotover Park for the afternoon.

They were charming and clearly enjoyed each other's company. Isaac, Chloe, Reuben and Elly were great sports; allowing me to get some natural portraits of them as they played and explored the woods. What better way to enjoy the last of our summer sun then walking through the woods with such a fun family or trying to catch a perfect shot of their dog (who is very quick!), Hobsley?!

Mark, Eva, Oliva & Isla

Aug 2013

It was a pleasure to run around with Mark, Eva and their two girls as they played together. Like any 2 year old, Olivia was more than willing to play chase through some trees. Isla is 10 months old and was happy to smile for the camera provided she was allowed to be on the move to explore.

Ryan turns 6 months old

Apr 2013

Jason and Sharon had requested a photo session to mark Ryan turning 6 months old at Blenheim Palace. The thing is, that if it is cool and breezy in Oxford you can guarantee that Blenheim Palace in Woodstock will have a bitter wind that will cut right through you. At the end of March, we were still getting snow flurries and temperatures just above freezing.

A Day in the Life

Jan 2013

Alissa and Troy moved to Oxford from the United States in 2011 with their two boys. Like many people in this dynamic city, their time here is for a short time. Alissa approached me with the idea of a Day in the Life series.

Grayson turns 1

Jul 2012

Located on the River Thames, Christ Church meadow offers a beautiful landscape and a terrific view of the Cathedral. However, these elements were of little interest to Grayson. Having just turned 1, he was more interested in the balloons, playing peek-a-boo with his parents, being swung upside down and watching the punters go by.

Smash it!

Jul 2012

To begin with, Grayson was not sure what to do with the whole cake that he was given. With only a little encouragement and help from his parents, Grayson discovered how much fun it was to split the cake into pieces. The bopping up and down that followed as he tucked in left little doubt that the cake was one of the best things he had tasted. What a great way to celebrate a 1st birthday!

Rich, Jane & Imogen at 5 Months

Jul 2012

I have to give credit where credit is due: using Blenheim Palace as the location for Imogen's photo session was entirely Jane's. She and Rich got engaged at Blenheim Palace and visit regularly. It was a great choice, with no end of possibilities. We used some of their favourite areas of the estate as our backdrop including the Secret Garden, Rose Garden and the water fall. It was a fun family morning out, finished off nicely with a cream tea!

Tom, Nic & Seth

May 2012

Nothing can prepare a first time parent for life with their newborn; and in my experience, the first few weeks go by in somewhat of a blur. For Tom and Nicola's photo shoot with 2 week old, Seth, I wanted to document their new life together as it happened.

Tom and Nicola at Badbury Clump

Apr 2012

April brings the most stunning bluebells in Oxfordshire. I could not resist the opportunity to photograph Tom and Nicola at Badbury Clump. With all the rain (and hail) we have had this week, we set out early to make the most of the clear skies and it was worth it.

Girl with the red balloon

Apr 2012

Colleen and Doug are in Oxford for a short time from the United States. When they asked me to photograph their daughter, their only request was that the pictures be distinctly British. There is no shortage of spires, stone buildings or narrow streets in this city; fulfilling the specification was entirely possible.

Simon, Louisa, Pheobe & 'Junior'

Apr 2012

Simon and Louisa love architecture - and Oxford. I usually like to keep a maternity shoot in a small area, but it was not possible for Simon and Louisa's session; Oxford simply has too much to offer. The City Centre provided a beautiful backdrop (complete with blue skies and sunshine) before we walked to Jericho to make use of its vibrant atmosphere.

Kate & the Fritillaries

Apr 2012

Each spring, Magdalen College's meadow fills with Fritillaries; a rare and delicate purple flower. Colleen loved the idea of photographing Kate amongst the flowers as part of a larger Oxford photo shoot. The flowers are only in bloom for a short period and thankfully, Colleen and Kate were available at a days notice.

The Starbucks collection

Feb 2012

I visit Starbucks regularly in Summertown. The employees know what I want before I even get to the counter (soya latte, please.). Recently, the normal pleasantries with the manager turned into a conversation about how Starbucks would like to display work from local artists or photographers on their walls…

The Beyer birthday boys!

Nov 2011

The day after Jacek's (4) and Tycen's (1) birthday party, they joined me for a photo shoot to mark the occasion. It was a fresh, bright afternoon - perfect for playing 'What time is it Mr. Wolf.' The game set the mood for the rest of our time together and the result was some fantastic shots of the family having fun together.

Autumn is 6 months

Jul 2011

“Have baby, will travel”; this was certainly true of Autumn for the first 6 months. Just like her mother, Autumn is contented to sit in a cafe, under a tree or on a beach and watch the world go by. This gave me plenty of opportunity to photograph her in some great locations—all in the course of 1 week!
